British Library Doctoral Open Day: Environmental Science

British Library Doctoral Open Days are a chance for new PhD students to discover the British Library’s research materials. You will learn about the Science collections, find out how to access them, meet expert staff and other researchers in your field. These events are aimed at students who are new to the British Library. Lunch and refreshments will be provided.

The British Library is home to the nation’s science collection, with a wide range of information resources from the current day and historical resources that may be of use to environmental scientists.

As well as an extensive collection of journals and books, the collection includes harder to find material, including conference proceedings, research reports, datasets, maps and access to UK doctoral theses through EThOS. The BL have a range of discovery resources and are building a service specifically for the environmental science community, which will be demonstrated on the day.

To make the most of your day, you may wish to get a free Reader Pass before the event.

A small number of £20 travel bursaries are available from the British Library for students coming from outside Greater London. Email to apply.

Post-doctoral researchers at CREST institutions may also apply to our Researcher Mobility Scheme to attend the event.
