Norwich University of the Arts and the 2015 Association of Art Historians Conference
The Association for Art Historians Annual (AAH) Conference – hosted by the University of East Anglia – took place in Norwich from the 9th to the 11th of April. Norwich University of the Arts (NUA) academics chaired two day-long sessions focusing on the themes ‘Avant-gardes and Wars‘ and ‘Surface Affects and Shiny Things: Bringing Meaning to Light‘. One NUA academic (Dr Judith Stewart) and two PhD students (Samantha Epps and Nicola Simpson) were also invited to present papers, and MA students acted as guides and session assistants, gaining access to discussions on cutting edge research, practice and theory. In association with UEA and the Sainsbury Centre for Visual Arts, NUA also hosted registration and academic sessions on the opening day of the conference, which was attended by over 450 international delegates.
